"What am I doing with my life…What makes me happy?" It is the question that puzzles us all. For years she had been traveling throughout the world in search of the answer. She had held every job imaginable, went to 3 different colleges, and had 3 different licenses in 2 different states and yet the question remained to tug at her heart. As she sat inside this coffee shop she looked around. There was a woman at the front ordering a hot chocolate for her young daughter. In the corner sat a student, laptop out, books spread out, typing away at her homework. A couple was seated on the left of her laughing at one another’s jokes as they sipped on their lattes. This…this felt like home." A home away from home," she thought. She had spent much of her youth inside coffee shops. She had been that student, that couple, and yet it had never dawned on her that this was who she was meant to become. This is what brought joy to her heart. Bringing joy to others through this type of environment. On that night she pulled out her notebook and instead of jotting down careers she jotted down what sparked happiness in her heart. She remembered cooking as young as the age of five, getting excited to bake cakes for her friends, standing by her mother in the kitchen as they cooked the family dinner, and realized that all this time she had known what she was meant to do. She was meant to bring joy into the lives of others through her passion, for cooking, and thus the first small step towards creating Kaffeology began.

In September of 2017 the process of looking for a location for the store began, but, two weeks into the search Hurricane Irma hit Florida evacuating most of the state. Our owner was forced to take a one-way flight into Rhode Island. She had been familiar with Newport, its beautiful mansions, the smell of seawater in the air, the waves crashing onto the beach, it was all so nostalgic. As she strolled down Thames Street with her mother she realized her heart was pulling her back home. In that unexpected short week in the Ocean State, she found her location and only two short months later was standing inside of the future store we all see now.

Our mission at Kaffeology is to inspire others to follow their own dreams by giving our customers the utmost best service, artisan food, nostalgic dessert creations, and artful milkshakes. Our goal is to bring the community together as a whole and aspire to give everyone a world-class experience through our cuisine! We want our customers to leave the stresses of the world behind and to remember the pure child-like joy that once sparked in their hearts. We hope to bring that spark back to life!
